Community relations
Alcoa has implemented various consultation processes for its current projects to strengthen collaboration with different community stakeholders while fostering the development of high quality social and environmental projects.
The Exchange and Information Committee
An Exchange and Information Committee, composed of major community stakeholders from various activity sectors, was created in June 2009. The role of this committee is to support Alcoa in carrying out its projects by taking into account local concerns when defining and carrying out these projects. Four meetings have already taken place.

Public information meetings
Public information meetings are also organized for these projects, not only to provide the community with information and answers, but also to gather comments and take the concerns of the population into account. The first information meeting was held in June 2009. A second meeting was held on October 7, 2009. Additional meetings will be planned at major project milestones to involve the community in the progress and take their concerns into account.
